If you haven’t experienced one of Lowe’s Build and Grow Kids’ Clinics, they are definitely a great activity for kids. The Build and Grow clinics are FREE and open to the public. They are held at Lowe’s stores on select Saturdays starting at 10 a.m. Registration is made online and open a few weeks prior to the event. At the Lowe’s we went to, my son received a red Lowe’s work apron to keep, along with their build kit (usually the kit makes a small wooden toy or other project). Safety glasses, hammer, glue and nails all are provided to use. Children must be accompanied by an adult to supervise and help if needed. Once you complete your project you receive a certificate and patch. We noticed that other kids were taking their patch and sewing them on to the work apron. What a cool idea. So now every time we go we bring our apron with patches and look forward to getting a new one. Some of the things my son has made include a pirate ship, a treasure chest, a mini car and a mother’s day flower pot holder. Click here to see the upcoming schedule.
